There is something wonderful about creating a link between who you are and what you put on paper, it’s liberating and inspiring. I want to help you all to enjoy this powerful tool of self-expression.
In this four-week course, you will learn how to develop your artistic voice further. It will be an introspective program, where we will talk about the different layers of someone’s voice, and work on a series of exercises designed to unlock them. We will focus on developing your own visual language, as well as enhancing it with technical knowledge. I will help you gain clarity on your own unique way of expressing yourself.
This process requires personal reflection and practice, along with getting rid of the noise outside, being able to tap into what makes you yourself, and expressing that without holding back.
During the first three weeks, we will explore the different layers of your voice; who you are, what you feel, and what you express. And on the last week, we will finish the course putting everything we found out in a final piece, hopefully, expressive and unique!
You will be motivated to paint every day during the duration of the course, for this, you will have weekly prompts to work on.
Every level is welcome and appreciated! It will be a safe space where to develop and get my support on taking your next creative steps.
This course is for people who:
Want help finding their own voice
Are going through an art block
Would benefit from having accountability to produce more
Enjoy reflecting on their art practice and goals
What happens if I miss a class?
Classes will be recorded, so you can work on the exercises when you are available.
My name is Àngela Sierra, but you might know me by Riso Chan, my artistic name.
I’m an artist and a creative teacher and my everyday job consists of painting portraits and sending them to galleries and museums to be exhibited and eventually sold. My work has been exhibited in China, at the Zhejiang Art Museum and the USA, at the Witte Museum as well as in other Galleries.
I’m an art teacher for Google’s arts program, and I also organize my own courses and private mentorships.
I’m currently working on a very cool project but secret, I will tell you more about it when it releases, what I can say though is that it will be accompanied by an exhibition which I’m preparing now.
I always like to find time to teach arts, and have done so for six years, first in a small art school I ran in Amsterdam called Bloom Art House, and later online, to be able to reach people from all around the world.
At the beginning of my teaching career, I focused on techniques, but eventually, I understood that my true passion is to find out what sparks creativity in my students, their unique voice, and their unique way to apply materials.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
